Brief Biography

Ying Xiao received her B.S. degree in chemistry from Wuhan University, China in 2008. Starting in Fall 2008, she was a graduate student in chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, working under the supervision of Prof. Scott K. Silverman on the in vitro selection of deoxyribozymes. She earned her Ph.D. degree in December 2013.

Research Interests

In my research in the Silverman lab, I developed deoxyribozymes for sequence-specific and site-specific cleavage of DNA. I also studied these deoxyribozymes biochemically.
